Half day tours (Mexico City)
CITY ORIENTATION TOUR
This will begin with the transfer from the hotel to the central square of the city known as the Zocalo. Here the people will have the chance to visit the 17th century Cathedral, the National Palace with its murals depicting the history of Mexico painted by Diego Rivera. Continuing on from here the people will be taken through the streets and past lovely colonial buildings out on to Reforma Avenue, once the carriageway to the homes of the rich and famous. They will reach the area of Chapultepec Park and see the famous castle and then go on to the lovely residential area of Lomas, where some of the finest houses in the city can be seen. The tour will finish at the world-famous Anthropology Museum, where there will be a chance to visit the Aztec Hall.
Duration : 5 hours approx. The tour operates daily, on Mondays the Museum is closed so instead of that we will visit Plaza de las Tres Culturas.

PYRAMIDS OF TEOTIHUACAN
The greatest legacy to the Aztec Empire lie just outside Mexico City about 45 minutes to the North-East. They will be taken on a guided tour of these extensive ruins to see the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. They will be able to climb the Pyramids of the Sun if they wish. On the way back to Mexico City the people will visit the most important religious shrine in all Mexico -the Basilica of Guadalupe Return to the city after the visit.
Duration : 6 hours approx. The tour takes place every day. Departure time: At 09:00 hrs & 14:00 hrs.

THE FLOATING GARDENS OF XOCHIMILCO AND UNIVERSITY CITY
One of the last remaining vestiges of the old Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, these gardens lie out in the south of the city. On arrival at the pier the people will board their gaily-painted ‘trajinera’ or boat to the gently poled along some of the may waterways which make up this area. They will be able to enjoy the colours and gaiety of this area and also hear the Mariachis as they pass along (NB The mariachis playing exclusively for the people is not included here). On the way back they will have a short visit to the University City (the outside only) where they will be able to see the murals of the library and the Olympic Stadium. On the return the guests will be returned to the hotel.
N.B. The order of the visits may change depending on traffic.

Combo City Tour

The tour will leave early from Mexico City and stop first in Cuernavaca - the city of Eternal Spring - in the next valley about 1 hour from Mexico City. Here the people will have a chance to visit the oldest Cathedral in the Americas and Museum Brady.
The tour will continue on to Taxco -the ‘silver’ city. The people will visit the centre of the town on foot, as coaches are not allowed in to the centre. The visit will mainly concentrate on the magnificent Santa Prisca Church, a landmark in the area. Following this there will be free time to walk around or go shopping in the many silver shops in the town.
Duration : 11 hours approx. The tour operates every day. Departure time: 09:00 hrs.
***OPTION *** In Taxco the guests can either return to Mexico City as above, or stay in the town and the next day continue to Acapulco.

PUEBLA & CHOLULA

The first stop will be at Santa María Tonantzintla, to visit the colourful chapel there and then continue to Cholula, the city of churches, where they will visit the Pyramid with the biggest base in the world. After this visit they will continue to Puebla, on arrival in Puebla the people will be taken on a tour of this beautiful colonial city to see such buildings as the Cathedral, and Capilla del Rosario, the main square and the religious museum ‘Convento de Santa Monica’. The arrival back in Mexico City will be at approximately 20:30 hrs.
Duration : 11 hours approx. The tour operates Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Departure time: 09:00 hrs.

TULA & TEPOTZOTLAN
The tour will begin with the visit to the old capital of the Toltec Empire -the ruins at Tula, the city of Quetzalcoatl. The people will be able to see the strange statues in a line at some distance from the site known as the ‘atlantes’ and the area that was used for the ball game. The tour will continue to Tepotzotlan where the people will be taken for a tour of the Museum dedicated to Virreinal Art. There will be free time for lunch between these two visits. Return to Mexico City in the afternoon.
Duration : 7 hours approx. The tour operates on Wednesday only.
