Half Day Tours

Half Day City: Alternatively with “Corcovado” or “Sugar Loaf” Tour

The Corcovado Version
From Copacabana the bus takes the route through the tunnel of ‘Reboucas’, which intersects the surrounding mountain range, reaching the “Laranjeiras District”. From there, a cog-wheel train, constructed by Swiss engineers, takes visitors up - passing through some lovely parts of the forest with panoramic views of the city, while escalating. Finally, appreciate the marvellous view from above - which the 28m high Christ still keeps enjoying after 60 years.

Back through one of the finest residential areas of Rio, called ‘Cosmo Velho’ - passing the tunnel of ‘Santa Barbara’ to reach the ‘Sambódromo’, a kind of open-air stage, where the famous Carnival presentations are shown every year. Along the central ‘Avenida Presidente Vargas’ we reach the district of ‘Tijuca’ and enter the National Park. Here you visit one of its most famous waterfalls - The “Cascatinha Tuanay”.

Heading in the direction of “Sao Conrado” the tour ends. The bus takes the guests back to their hotels, driving along the beaches.

The Sugar Loaf Version
Passing the famous beaches “Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon” you reach the “Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas”- an ocean bay which has been separated from the seas by raising a large part of the ground. Here are the most beautiful residences of Rio de Janeiro.

You reach the biggest soccer stadium in the world, called Maracana. Visit the modern cathedral of the city, pass “Flamengo-Park”, which was raised from the sea, and finally reach the foot of “Morro da Urca”, a mountain which is located in front of the famous “Sugar Loaf” - the first stage when going up Sugar Loaf by cable-car.

Second stage, Sugar Loaf itself
Offering an incomparable panoramic view of Rio’s skyline from one side - on the other, the open sea, covered with many green islands.

Rio by night (Dinner/show)
Rio’s nightlife is perfect to please the inner traveller. Restaurants range from sophisticated to international. Guests are taken to a typical “Churrascaria” where they can experience the best meats Brazil has to offer.

Nightclubs and shows are among the world’s most spectacular - hours tend to be late (11pm onwards) with dancing till dawn. After dinner, guests are taken to see the exotic shows.

Additional Tours include:
Half Day to Petropolis

Full Day Tour of Tropical Islands
Near the coast between Rio and Santos, one can discover hundreds of islands building a natural barrier against the open sea. Inside this calm zone you feel as if you are in Polynesian waters: crystal-blue sea - palm decorated beaches with the finest sand, surrounded by the Serra do Mar rainforest. Dotted in between are some fishing villages from the colonial past.

At “Itacurucá”, guests board a local schooner embarking on a cruise between the tropical islands in the bay. On the ship drinks and snacks are served. A stopover at an uninhabited island for swimming and beach combing followed by beautiful “Jaguanan Island” for a delicious buffet lunch, all served under the shade of thatched-roof huts on a private beach - a band of musicians entertain the guests. The tour includes free use of beach facilities such as windsurfing, volleyball, beach tennis and kayaks. The cruise back at sunset completes a superb exotic adventure. Guests are taken back to their hotels by bus. (Lunch is included in this tour.)
